I was thinking what if we, Indonesian people, had the same format name or the same way of naming just like in another state or nation. That put our family name/surname/clan, or the name of our father into ours. Like the Arabian who highly value their family lineage from his father's name. For example, companions of the Prophet Muhammad saw, Umar bin Khattab. This means his name is Umar and the name of his father is Khattab. From the name itself we figure out the family tree starting from the name of his father. Another example is Ali ibn Abi Talib bin Abdul Muttalib ra. From the name of this Prophet Muhammad saw's companions we find that he, Ali, his father is Abi Talib, and his grandfather is Abdul Muthalib. Subhanallah. Unlike us, in Indonesia parents' name even considered a disgrace and mockery made by the children. Even the name of their parents called for the purpose of harassing. Naudzubillah ..
I do not mean to compare both tradition Indonesia and Arab in naming, just thinking, hehehe.
There again, the tradition of naming to most Westerners. They usually use the format (name) (middle name) (surname). For example: Selena Mary Gomez. Quite unique that they put their family/clan name as the identity. Cool enough.
In Spain, although they belonged to the Europeans, but they use different way of naming. The format is (name) (mother's surname) (father's surname). For example, taken from a footballer's name Cesc Fabregas Soler. But of course it's preferred the format his own name (Cesc) + his father's surname (Fabregas).
Well there again different with the Korean people. If most people generally enter the name of the family after the original name, the Korean just put their name in the beginning. For Example Lee Min Ho. This means that he is from the family Lee and his name is Min Ho.
I think in other areas such as japan, china, india, etc. are not much different in naming like putting the name first then followed by surname/clan as western people in general. Or maybe that kind of naming is actually not from the west, hehe just guessing.
Okay I'll name myself based on how people do i mentioned above.
First name: Fitri
My father's name / family / clan: Indrizal (I actually do not have a family name / clan, so I use my father's name, yes ;p)
Mother's name: Wirdawati
Grandfather's name: Agus Bain
Conclusion ...
In Arabic tradition: Fitri binti Indrizal bin Agus Bain
In the Western tradition: Fitri Apriyani Indrizal
In Spanish tradition: Fitri Wirdawati Indrizal
In Korean tradition: Indrizal Fitri
